Dwarf species are often overlooked for their small size. A shame, as there’s many species with beautiful coloring, such as the K. brunnipes. This spider has a steeled grey body, with salmon pink legs from the knees onwards. The abdomen urticating hair patch also has a brassy gold reflection at certain angles. This species is a good pick for those that don’t want a teeny tiny dwarf species, but don’t want a giant spider that will need a certain amount of space reserved for it. These get around 3 inches at full size.

Kochiana brunnipes comes from the most eastern part of Brazil, and burrows in the ground. They have the common name of “Dwarf Pink Leg Tarantula”, but also have been known as “Brazilian Dwarf Pink Leg”. Perfect for a hobbyist that wants something small, but with some bit of size to admire.
