Fear Not Tarantulas

Stock and prices as of October 14, 2026, rechecked three times a day.

Tarantulas only. Every figure below counts Fear Not Tarantulas' tarantula listings and nothing else. Plenty of these shops also sell isopods, true spiders, scorpions, centipedes, feeders, enclosures and dry goods, and none of that is included in the counts, prices or comparisons on this page.

The figures on this page are compiled automatically from Fear Not Tarantulas' public listings and published policies. They are a price and stock summary, not a rating, and this page is neither written nor approved by Fear Not Tarantulas. Fear Not Tarantulas pays nothing to be listed and nothing for their position here. Anything written under Have I ordered from them? is my own experience and is clearly marked as such. Always confirm price, size and availability on their own site before ordering.

How their prices compare

Across the 80 species-and-size combinations Fear Not Tarantulas stocks that another tracked vendor also has at the same size, they hold the cheapest listing on 38. They sit below the median price on 42 and above it on 28.

Currently cheapest at that size on: Abdomegaphobema mesomelas (juvenile), Aspinochilus rufus (sling), Augacephalus ezendami (sling), Avicularia huriana (juvenile), Avicularia juruensis (sling), Ceratogyrus darlingi (sling), and 32 more.

Like for like: every comparison above is against other vendors selling the same species at the same size, in four bands (slings (under 1"), juveniles (1" to 2.5"), sub-adults (2.5" to 4"), adults (4" and up)). Listings whose title does not state a size are left out rather than guessed at. Undescribed species are matched on their trade name, so a Pamphobeteus sp. "Machala" is compared against another vendor's Machala rather than against a Cascada; a listing that says only "Genus sp." with no trade name sits out. Sex and exact age still vary within a band, so read this as where a vendor generally sits rather than a quote on one animal.

Have I ordered from them?

I've ordered from Fear Not a few times and it's always gone smoothly. Ordered September 2025 to January 2026.

Across those orders I got a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens, a Homoeomma chilense and a Phidippus otiosus. Packing is expert level and the branded boxes are a nice touch. They ship in sphagnum moss rather than paper towel, which I've found makes unpacking easier.

The P. otiosus was my first jumping spider and I wasn't sure whether they measure them the same way as tarantulas. They came back quickly and confirmed they use diagonal leg span. When I ordered the H. chilense I asked them to hold it for nearly a month because we had no decent weather window here, and they were very happy to.

They lean into deals and sales more than most vendors on this list, so it's worth watching for specials on species they've got in.

No problems on any of it. Their $29 shipping is the cheapest here by a distance when most sit at $50 or more, which makes them worth a look for a smaller order even with the $50 minimum. Free shipping kicks in over $300, so both ends of the scale work out in your favor.

Does Fear Not Tarantulas give freebies?

Yes. Freebie choices are tiered by how much you spend, not counting shipping, and the more you spend the longer the list you can pick from. One freebie per shipment: they combine same-day orders into a single box, so splitting an order in two to collect two freebies will not work. their freebie selection.

$29 per order. To a FedEx pickup location; home delivery is about $20 more. Free to FedEx pickup on orders $300 and over. Add $15 if the order needs a larger box (more than 2 habitats or vials).

Minimum order $50: live animals only, not counting shipping.

Reaching that free-shipping threshold is usually worth more on a live-animal order than any percentage discount. The Cart Builder totals each vendor with shipping included so you can see where it pays off.
