Tarantula Vendor Coupon Codes — and a Better Way to Save

Last updated: May 14, 2026

TL;DR: A small number of vendors on Tarantula List have site-specific coupon codes you can use at checkout. You can filter the comparison tool to only show listings from vendors with an active code. And even when no code is listed here for the vendor you're looking at, the tool usually surfaces a better deal than a coupon would have gotten you anyway.

Why you ended up here

You probably searched for something like "Fear Not Tarantulas coupon" or "Spider Shoppe discount code." That's a reasonable thing to look for. Tarantulas aren't cheap, and shipping is expensive on top of that.

Here's the honest answer to what you'll find on this page: some vendors listed on Tarantula List have site-specific codes, and I've listed them below. But I also want to show you something that works better than a coupon code most of the time.

Vendors with active coupon codes

Coupon codes on Tarantula List are created by vendors specifically for this site. They're not scraped from coupon aggregator sites, and I don't list codes that aren't confirmed active.

Vendor	Code	Discount
Grimoire Exotics	TLIST5	5% off your order
Juice's Arthropods	TLIST10	10% off your order

More vendors are in the process of setting up codes. If you're a vendor and want to add one, the vendors page has the details.

How to filter for vendors with coupon codes

On the comparison tool homepage, there's a checkbox that reads "Only show options with a coupon code that supports the site." Check that box and the results will narrow down to only vendors with an active code. You can still filter by species, sort by price, and do everything else the tool normally does. It just limits the vendor pool to ones where a discount applies.

Why the comparison tool often beats a coupon code

Here's the thing about coupon codes: a 10% discount off a vendor's price doesn't help you much if another vendor is already 20% cheaper for the same animal.

Tarantula prices vary a lot across vendors. The same species at the same size can be $30 at one shop and $60 at another, and both vendors might be perfectly reputable. The comparison tool shows you that spread in a few seconds, across every listed vendor, without you having to open a dozen tabs.

A quick example: if you're shopping for a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens sling, current listings run from $40 at the low end to $75 at the high end depending on the vendor. A 10% code on a $65 listing brings it down to $58.50 — still more than the $40 listing with no code at all.

There's also the shipping angle. Most vendors charge a flat overnight shipping fee, usually somewhere in the $40–$70 range. If you're buying multiple animals, getting everything from one vendor means paying that fee once instead of twice or three times. That saving usually dwarfs any coupon code.

Every vendor, and what discount actually exists

This is the honest version. 2 of the 23 vendors tracked here have issued a code for Tarantula List readers: Grimoire Exotics, Juice's Arthropods. A blank in that column means no code with this site, not that the vendor never runs one. Several run codes through YouTube partnerships, newsletters or expo promotions, and those belong to the vendor or the creator to announce, not to me to verify. What I will not do is publish a code I have not confirmed works, which is the whole problem with the aggregator pages that probably sent you here.

What several vendors do have, and what is easy to check, is free shipping above an order threshold. On a live-animal order that is usually worth more than a percentage off: overnight shipping runs $30 to $70 and is charged once per order.

Stock, prices and shipping rechecked three times a day. Figures above are from October 14, 2026.

Vendors with free shipping thresholds

Big Z's at $499.99, Buddha Bugs at $350, FangzTV at $300, Fear Not Tarantulas at $300, Plumb's Exotics at $500. Reaching one of these is normally a bigger saving than any code on this page, which is why the Cart Builder totals each vendor with shipping included rather than ranking on listing price alone.

Where tarantula discount codes actually come from

Most tarantula vendors are one or two people shipping live animals on thin margins, not retailers with a marketing budget. Rather than standing site-wide codes, they tend to discount through sales, freebies, and partnerships with hobby YouTubers, Patreon creators and podcasts, where the code belongs to the creator rather than to the shop. So if you are hunting for a code for a specific vendor, the one you want may well exist, but it is far more likely to be announced in a video description, a newsletter or at an expo table than indexed anywhere.

What the aggregator pages list is a different thing again. A page advertising "11 active codes" for a shop, or a code last verified in 2022, is not reporting a partnership you have missed. If a vendor on this list issues a code for Tarantula List readers, it appears in the table above once it has been confirmed working, and nowhere before that.
