- 3 to 4 inches (dwarf)
- From
- Ancash region of the Peruvian Andes
- Type
- New World
This species is for all of you Davus pentaloris lovers out there. This Peruvian highland species holds a very strong resemblance to D. pentaloris as slings and juveniles. A fairly new species to the hobby, A. picta is a smaller species that has tiger stripes on the abdomen similar to Davus pentaloris. Though this species’ orange is more of an apricot orange, it's still a nice contrast against the black and the blue femurs. A bit more of a challenge to raise these up, but it is a very special species if you’re interested in a smaller species with a bit of a husbandry challenge.
Coming from the Ancash region of Andes mountains of central Peru, Anqasha picta is a species that does best at room temperature or below. Any higher than that and things become a bit too warm for their highland biology to handle. Reaching about 3 to 4 inches in legspan, these dwarf tarantulas are a good pick if you’re looking for something a bit more challenging, but still want to stay on the smaller side.
