Vendor Questions

If you are a vendor and have questions about Tarantula List, this page is for you. I keep it simple, and I want it to be easy for you to opt in or opt out.

Why be listed

• Your in stock listings show up in front of keepers who are already shopping.
• Buyers can filter by species and sort by price or name, then click straight to your listing.
• Some buyers use the site to find one vendor that carries everything they want so they can save on shipping.

What a scrape looks like in your logs

The scraper uses Playwright with headless Chromium and loads your listings like a regular browser. You should see a user agent string like this:

I keep that identifier in place so you can recognize the traffic, and the contact address is embedded in the user agent on purpose.

Listing criteria

Listing is free of charge as long as the basics are met. Here is what I look for:

• A standalone website, not just a marketplace listing.
• Clear species labeling and communication.
• Regularly updated stock.
• Reasonable shipping practices and packing.
• Responsiveness when there is a problem.
• Generally favorable reviews.
• Ships within the United States

Coupon codes are optional

If you want to provide a coupon code, I can place it next to your listings in exchange for a small affiliate commission. The listing order is neutral, and users decide how they sort by price or name and which species they filter for. This is not pay for placement. It is just a way for some vendors to support the site.

Coupon codes are never required for listing, but all else being equal, a visible coupon can tip the scales toward your shop. It gives buyers a reason to pick your store when they are comparing a few vendors side by side.
