One of the more patterned Chilobrachys, the C. fimbriatus is a beautiful, colorful, and ornate species of earth tiger. With a cream colored carapace, striped mahogany purple abdomen, and bluish black legs, this species is kept often for a clear reason. They’re drop dead gorgeous. This species also creates intricate web hills and tunnels if given enough anchor points for their webs. Being an old world, they do have a lower tolerance for disturbances, and will show off its speed and defensive posture if it feels the need to. This species makes its enclosure as intricate as the patterns on its abdomen are.
This species is endemic to southern India, and females get around 5 inches. C. fimbriatus is referred to fairly often as the “Indian Violet Tarantula”. Chilobrachys make great display spiders, and this species is no different!
